I'm having problems shutting down. PT freezes upon exiting

For the past few weeks every single time I exit PT it freezes.. No matter which way I try it, close session first then file exit, or close session then use quit command, or trying to exit while session is still open.

If anyone has any tips let me know.

i'm running PT 7.3.1 on a Q9550 core2 duo (quad) 4g of ram dedicated audio drive and sample drive. Everything is usually pretty stable but this has been happening recently.

I have been having this problem a LOT lately and it is really driving me insane.

SOMETIMES I get a white screen, but if I walk away for 10-15 minutes it'll eventually close the session. Annoying to be sure. Embarassing if you have a client sitting there....

Just a guess...

Do any of you guys happen to have multiple USB MIDI devices connected? I know the Akai USB devices causes this problem when on a shared USB connector.

Just a Midisport 8X8s and a CD burner here. It never did it with 7.4

I have plenty of USB devices connected but all are directly into the PC...

any other suggestions?

For testing purposes...I would suggest disconnecting the Akai (and any other Akai device) and see if PT shuts down properly. Make sure to start and shutdown PT without any Akai device attached.
