Default Re: The (near) perfect tablet for the S1

Just replaced my Fire 10 HD with the 11 Max and Love them.

The width is perfect for the S1 - meters line up closer to the faders, and even though its a fraction taller than the 10, the design makes it sit in the S1 holders better so ends up having a slightly lower profile.

Better contrast - quicker...a great upgrade.

I got mine from Amazon refurbished for about $120 each..

Just out of interest, do you need to still jump through a lot of hoops to get the Google Play store on the Fire 11 Max (and hence the Avid Control app) or is it all ready to go now?

Nope. Just used the Amazon App Store which was pre-installed.

Setting up a new table was less than 5 mins.

Thanks for the input guys.

Looking at what's on sale I'll probably pick up a Samsung A9+ instead. $10 less and won't have to deal with ads or being restricted to the Amazon store.

Would anyone here pick the Fire Max 11 or Lenovo M11 over Samsung A9+ (4/64GB)?

PS: Just updated and I think performance has regressed. But this is likely a problem with the tablet I'm guessing. Perhaps it's just dying or something...

I've updated my Fire 10 and it feels slower to switch pages now. So I'm reconsidering my stance on wifi / Ethernet performance. Going to go back to Ethernet when I find my adapters....

I can't recall which generation Fire this is and out of the studio for a few days. So I'm no help for troubleshooting at the moment.

Fire 11's work well enough - Had to do the usual updates to bring Eucon in line and app to latest etc but relatively painless

I did however screw up and bought the worng iPAd - So my girldfriend is now the proud owner of a iPad Pro 12.9 leaving me with her 2019 Ipad air which seems to be OK ....

Last purchase some right angled USBc

You should try the iPad Pro 12.9 in Portrait mode on the Dock !

Just got the Samsung A9+ (4GB/64GB).

Responsiveness is much better than the HD10 I had. And of course in general the device is much nicer.

I use right-angle 1ft cables and they are a tight but close fit for the FireMax 11 with no extra cord hanging out stretching from the USB port on the S1 to the port on the FireMax.
For the iPad, I dremeled a slightly higher opening on the right of the Dock (it's just plastic there) so the cable (belkin ethernet kit) can still plug in behind the knobs. All the cables are nicely tucked away or blend in.
