Sequoia !?

Ugh of course UA is not yet compatible with Sequoia
Both for Spark and UA Apollo/Satalite
So I'm going to hold of on the update.

I thought I was updating from Ventura to Sonoma, but it bumped me up to Sequoia. Apollo 8 TB2, Volt, and pci-e and satellite OCTOs all working fine.
Whew. If I would have had a choice, I would have chosen Sonoma, but I seem to have lucked out so far.

So when I went install 24.10 on my studio machine (intel iMac ) On OS Ventura 13.6.1
The installation was successful
BUT I got a ghosted out message that said PT Carbon device cannot connect ?? and Carbon was not listed in the choices for audio device. (Which hadn't happened in previous PT version updates) so I did as the message indicated went to Audio Midi selected Carbon But even after 30 seconds Carbon was still not listed in Playback device window.
So I ended up choosing I think iPhone mic > launched PT then was able to select Carbon and then finally it said Carbon needed a firmware update ( which always happened before when you first launched PT ) just a heads up Am playing with now to see how it runs so far so good ---other than that circuitous route to get Carbon as the audio device

I believe that behavior is documented here in the known issues:
Pro Tools cannot detect Carbon during the first launch of Pro Tools after being installed on Sequoia, but is visible in the Playback Engine after the initial launch.

Humm Ok so just I understand I do an initial launch and then just close PT and then Launch again and then select it in the playback engine ? good to know when I do upgrade to Sequoia..

So can we then assume It is a PT 2024.10 issue ? because it also happened when as I said I upgraded to PT 2024.10 but am still on Ventura 13.6.1 ?

Well, I just tested this on a M1 Mac mini that I recently updated to macOS 15.1 - just put PT 24.10 on it and launched and no issues. It is a bit of a Frankenstein machine - as I have HDX, RME HDSPe, and now additionally Carbon on it. I had to pivot from HDX engine and relaunch with Carbon - but all of the inputs and outputs are fine. Sonnet Thunderbolt AVB adapter.

Apologies, I thought that was communicated in Mark's post + the referenced KBase. We are hoping that macOS 15.2 brings back full Carbon Central support.
