video satellite compatibility

Hi folks,

wow it´s not easy to find information on the avid website...
I bought a video satellite 7.4 license.
I´d like to know if I can use it with PT9, or where I can get an upgrade.
I have the license at my Ilok account, but not registered to my avid account
(as I am still waiting for registering information).

Any help ?

I just checked our VidSat iLok and it too is 7.4. I'm not running it with PT9 but with 8.1. I'd guess, since the version of VidSat probably isn't linked to the version of PT, it should work.

The software has changed since 7.4. You must have media composer v3.1.2 or higher to work with PT8.0cs1 or higher. The satellite protocol was changed at those versions, and it is not backwards compatible. Your iLok license should now be plugged onto the media composer system, no longer on the PT system. So, upgrade to media composer (paid), move your video satellite authorization, and you should be up and running.

I also talked to avid. 7.4 is the latest versio and Works Fine with pt9.
