Dock + Raven VS Dock + S1

that is the question!
I'm a long time pt user, now have a small living room setup with a faderport2 but i'm tired of it.
I read a few threads and looks like slate and dock are compatible, but anyone using that combo? happily?
what's you guy's opinion?
I do mostly songwriting, mixing on the fly.
