Default Virtual MIDI port and legacy controllers

I'm trying to assign the CS-10 controller to Pro Tools and have the MIDI input port be a virtual MIDI port (which my application is publishing). I can choose the virtual MIDI port in the MIDI input dialog, and MIDI input works when recording to a track.

However, even though I can choose the virtual MIDI port in the MIDI controller #1 assignment for the CS-10, when I click OK, Pro Tools tells me that I need to choose NONE or choose a MIDI port.

For some reason it will not accept a virtual MIDI port in the MIDI controller setup window.

I'm using Pro Tools 7.4.2 on Intel Mac - Leopard.

Can anyone confirm this?

Aron
