Default midi ports on my digi rack aren\'t showing up

I have a Digi002 rack that i'm using w/my hp laptop. the computer suddenly stopped recognizing the midi port, though. i thought it was b/c i was using cubase, but protools won't recognize it either. it doesn't come up as an option, but the lights still blink when i push down a key on my controller (an m-audio Keystation 61es). the lights mean that the digi's still getting signal right? i thought it might've installed the DigiWave driver, but even after i removed that and reinstalled protools, i still have the same problem. help anyone? i tried emailing digidesign weeks ago and never received a response.
