Default MIDI Tempo Question

I have a project that was recorded at 65 bpm.

I bounced the project to an audio file and sent it to a keyboard player.

He recorded a MIDI part for a piano track, but had his project tempo set to 120 bpm.

Is there an easy way to convert his file so it fits in my project at the 65 bpm tempo? I can't seem to figure this one out.

If all my tracks were audio, I could just set the project tempo to 120 bpm and it would work, but I have other MIDI parts in the project, so I need to convert his file to 65 bpm.

Thanks.

You could also import the file into a new session and use Beat Identifier to change Tempo to 65... then export the MIDI file and it will match your session tempo.

Ah, I forgot it doesnt work with MIDI files just audio..... So you would have to bounce the MIDI to audio, then use ID Beat to set temo (or since its just audio you can just change the session tempo) then you can use a plug like Melodyne or Drumagog to convert the audio back to midi and would have the tempo of your session when exported...

- Set the timebase selector to samples on all tracks, MIDI and audio.
- Set the session tempo to 120.
- Import the MIDI file to a new track, and this track must have ticks as the timebase.
- Change the session tempo back to 65, and switch the timebase back to ticks for your tracks.

This is how I do it - real old school engineering.
