Good to know, thanks. 12.4 it is.

Srsly considering building a PC and switching to Windows, as the current options for upgrading in Mac land are fairly underwhelming.

12.5 was the noise blast fix rev. No way I would go back to anything earlier.

You know I love Apple OS but the incessant update schedule from them has made life sooo difficult.

Win is so much easier. Win7 was qualified for PT8-12

Mac 12 core 2.93 ghz 5,1 32 Gb ram, OSX 10.12.3, Pro Tools HD 12.6.1 (now), MadiXtreme, Orion 32 via MADI
Massively better stability with 12.6.1HD. Truly horrible stability with 12.7, probably the most unstable version of Pro Tools ever here.

The only thing I can point a finger at for my 12.7 woes is the current version of Kontakt and 12.7 just not getting along.

I've now tried 12.6.1 with Yosemite and Sierra. PT is equally stable in Sierra but also noticeably faster and more responsive than Yos. X-Form renders are whizzing by.

We are very happy with 12.6.1. We haven't had a crash since updated our rigs.

What's the best way to roll back? A complete uninstall of 12.7?

Best? Complete clean install of operating system. Fast? Just ignore every good advise you have heard and do whatever comes to your mind

I'm not sure why but I never really have issues with PT 12. I usually upgrade when I have a spare moment between jobs and it seems to go smoothly. I use pro tools for a living and work on everything from feature films, documentaries and tv shows to VR projects, web series and iphone apps. I often run sessions with multiple videos (occasionally get AVE issues), more than a hundred tracks and plug ins with lots of automation. The only thing I don't do is use lots of VI's although I do use Kontakt (haven't upgraded it recently though, I use 5.5), Reaktor 6 and UVI workstation often. I don't think I've ever had a -9173 error! I wish I knew why it just works for me and I really feel for all of you who have so many problems. I really like PT 12.7! I don't want to sound like I'm gloating, I just want to present the other side of the story and to try to show that there are people who are using Pro tools without serious issues.
