Default Pro Tools 8.0.1 not Detecting Microphone Inputs

I cannot get any levels from my mic pres into PT. I have:

1. PT8.0.1
2. Digi 003 Factory Console (6 mos old)
3. iMac 24" intel w/fast processor and 4G ram (OS 10.5.7 combo update)

Shure KSM 27 mic (requires phantom power)
AKG 1000s mic (requires phantom power)
Shure 58 (does not require phantom power)

I have tried all three mics to no avail. I have triple checked all connections and verified that phantom power has been activated. I also tried using different mic inputs in the back of the 003. The mics all work. After discovering this problem, I checked the mics in my Mackie board. I am only using one mic cable to troubleshoot everything. I do have a Digimax FS A/D converter hooked up, but that shouldn't affect anything. I have the PT tracks set for ANALOG recording, not ADAT.

This is the first time I've tried to record into PT8.
When I had M-Powered and the Project Mix, I was able to record no problem.

Thanks in advance for any help!

This may seem retarded, but: How do I reset to default? When I press the "default" button and then "ok", nothing seems to happen. For starters, I'm pretty sure my setting are at default, anyway. But, still, when I make changes to the i/o setup and then click "default" (and then "ok"), nothing happens. When I click out of the setup menu and then go back to i/o settings, they are still the same as before (meaning, reflecting any changes I made for testing purposes). Either way, it still doesn't work.

Thanks.

Do your line inputs work?

Does the digimax work?

Yes. The line inputs and Digimax work fine. I've recorded lots of stuff with this setup, but it's all been from instruments. Today is the first time I've tried to record from a microphone (and, now Madonna is getting impatient). Do you think trashing my prefs would help?

I should have answered "no." The Mic/Line button was pressed and lit up. I was wondering why mic and line were together, as I always understood that you couldn't have both options at the same time. I just found out from Tech Supt (on the phone) that the lit position means "line" and the unlit position means "mic." That was my problem. Now where did Madonna wonder off to...

Double check what KB said first... I believe the light should be off on the button to be in mic position...

If no go Then try the prefs...

This info is in the "003 getting started guide" too... Probably worth a gander...
