Recording Vocal

I am using Mbox 2 Pro with Pro Tools 7.3.1, and a AKG condensor microphone for recording
When I create a new mono track for vocal, and I click on the "R" button ready to record,
the sound I can hear from my microphone is mixed with a "Chorus" effect sound,
but if I record it the output sound is dry sound.

I didn't add any effects(pre nor post) or change any settings in Pro Tools, how come I keep hearing the Chorus effect from my microphone? Is it a problem to my microphone line or else?

HI,

perhpas you´ll have your speakers too loud, so that mic will pick up the sound,
my AKG P200 can pick up very little noises.

It´s also often the necessary for the ´recording booth´ to kill auiodreflection
with some acoustic foam.

POsistion the mic as far from the compter as possible.

I think is not the problem of speakers, cos i am using headphone.
and the "chorus" effect doesn't exsist after I record it and play back.
I think the effect is generated through the monitoring line,
I dun know how to set it>.<

It's most likely latency.

Try going to Options and click on low lateny monitoring while your tracking.

You can also drop down the buffer size by: Setup-playback engine- and drop it as low as your computer will handle. 128 samples is usually tolerable for most vocalists.

If your computer doesn't have the juice to run at such a low rate then you may have to disable some plug-ins until your finished tracking and ready to mix.

Or, mute the track you are recording to and use the mix knob to adjust the vocal to music balance for recording. (the muted track still records)

no mix knob on mbox2 pro albee1952... buffer setting as low as possible is best. how new is you computer auau? if its one of these intel macs, then the lowest buffer size shouldnt cause too many hiccups, but if so, simply do a rough mix of your song, export that mix into a new project, i like to label mine (song name)-voc-(date), do all your recordings and comps, then bounce resulting file(s) back to the original mix. or get an mbox2 and use the mix knob, like albee1952 suggested.

The Problem has been fixed,
just by turning on the "Low latency monitoring"
