What\'s your favorite compressor plugin?
What's everyone using for compression plugins? I've tried a few, and haven't seemed to get what I was after yet. Got a comp that works really well for you?

Re: What\'s your favorite compressor plugin?
By far my favorite day to day soft compressor is Sony Dynamics. I have the Waves stuff etc, but really only use the Sony. (Key tracks get the outboard)
That said, I wish MDW would release a compressor to match their eq! Nic |

Ditto to Nicolasixx. The Sony dynamics are my first "go to".

Re: What\'s your favorite compressor plugin?
I still like the Waves C1 over the Renaissance Comp. I've also been using a lot more of the Waves C4 multi-band compressor for voice-over because it allows me to stomp out the sibillance without loosing the transients up top.
ChannelStrip (Metric Halo) also has a pretty good compressor in it, although I haven't been at a studio that has it in awhile, so I can't vouch for whether my ears still like it as much as they used to. They're awefully fickle about some things... |

Re: What\'s your favorite compressor plugin?
i use universal audio (LA-2a and 1176) and also waves C1, Rcomp and Rvox.
the Rvox is the best and most easy to use compressor on vocals (and also other instruments that behave like the human vox). i hear a new hit on the radio and can immediately recognize the Rvox in use. it just brings the vocal to the front of the mix in the most beautiful and effortless way. the plug itself got only o-n-e slider for compression (all parameters are preset, and this is why it is so recognizable). it also features a gate and auto makeup gain. my favourite on vocals! |
