MP3 export, key, W98 mp3.dll
Hello again. In another thread I mentioned I replaced my dead hard drive instead of buying a Mac. New disk and fresh W98 install worked wonders.
However, I now lack my key for the MP3 export. The download off the Digidesign site is for WXP only. I tried it anyway and I get a driver error. The installed (but not licensed) MP3 bounce challenges me for a key disk. If I go to the digistore and buy a key, can I put that on a disk? In other words, is this a viable path or will I end up with a key that I cannot get my W98 MP3 export to acknowledge? Suggestions? I am open to other options such as external WAV->MP3 converters. In that case, I assume I'd bounce to Stereo WAV. |

Re: MP3 export, key, W98 mp3.dll
If you log into the "My Digi" part of the Digidesign website, they have a record of all of your purchases. They should have a record of your MP3 Export purchase, including the activation key.

Re: MP3 export, key, W98 mp3.dll
Right idea -- but I don't have an account.
I don't mind paying again. I just want to know if the key will work. Clearly the new WXP driver doesn't. |

Re: MP3 export, key, W98 mp3.dll
The MP3 Export is still available for purchase from this link. If you need to "re-buy" it, that's what you are looking for.

Re: MP3 export, key, W98 mp3.dll
OK. So I tried the "Forgot your password?" route and sent 2 common email addresses in. Bingo!
My MP3 export option shows up on my account purchase history just like you said it would! Feb 11 2002. I click on the order # and I get a SQL Error. Hmmmm. So I say "forget it." $20 bucks. I try to buy it. None of my credit cards are accepted. I try 3 different cards with various permutations of address, apt #, spaces, etc. Hmmm. So I write an email in the Avidstore "Contact the Web Store Support Team" page. I press the equiv of the "Submit" button and it hangs sending. I wait 5 minutes (whilst typing this) then I cancel and resubmit. Still hanging "Waiting for secure.digidesign.com...." Wait. The window just went away. I don't know if it sent or not. Sigh..... |

Re: MP3 export, key, W98 mp3.dll
Digistore support emailed my auth code this AM.
Redownloaded 5.1.1 MP3 Option for W98. Now it challenges me for an auth code! Typed it in and it all works. Thanks to all for your help. |
