Please advise on modern acoustic drums VI (Apple Silicon U2B)

Hi guys,

I have been running SSD4 and Addictive Drums for my drums samples needs for ages, but with the new M2 processor computer I also need to update my plugins and VI's and I'm wondering what are the modern Acoustic drum VI's people prefer to use?

Everyone in our company has been rather devoted to Toontrack's drum products for quite a while. Superior Drummer 3 is outstanding and they offer a vast library of sounds which leave little to be desired. If you're into pre-programmed MIDI, EZ Drummer is wildly smart and helpful for developing legitimate MIDI parts. And they've been AAX-AS for quite a while.

3rd that Not only do the new TT libraries sound great, SD3 makes an excellent drum replacement tool. I still have Slate Trigger, but many times, SD3 does just fine(especially if toontrack has the sound I want)

Yet another SD3 fan. As for other than stock stuff that comes with SD3 the Death & Darkness library would be a good first addition. Don't forget to have plenty of space on your samples drive. The main library is 240 gig if you do the full install.

Yeah, Toontrack all the way. I've gotten into arguments with world touring professional drummers bc they ask me "But who PLAYED on the track?" They are astoundingly versatile.

For big rock and metal I sometimes dupe the tracks and use slate as well. I own Addictive drums, Ugritone, Slate 5, Trigger, Drumagog, etc. Programming drums is a big part of my livelihood.

I reach for Superior Drummer 9/10 times a week.

Toontrack does one thing no other drum vi does and that's controllable bleed. That's what catches out drummers when asking about SD3.

Indeed! I find all the stock settings have too much snare bleed in the overheads and change that before anything else(thanks for the reminder)
