Hi everyone !
I've recently encountered a problem with pro tools that is making me lose my mind. Everytime I'm recording something when I playback the audio clip it's accelerated and I hear myself talking like a chipmunk. I thought it was a sample rate issue so I made sure my audio interface and my session had the same but the problem remains. I also tried reinstalling my drivers and pro tools but the problem doesn't go away. Some friends told that trashing my preferences might help so I did that as well but in vain. I'm frankly out of options so I created this account specifically to see if someone could help me. |

Hi defintely sound like a SR issue . Focusrite cam be tricky sometimes ( if you are using the gear in your profile ) Can you try disconnecting all the gear* you have and running PT with only the internal audio card ?

Thx for your reply.
By internal audio card you mean my computers ? I can do that I think it works cause this problem only started to rise when I used my audio interface. Still I'd like to be able to use my mic lol |

Hi does this happen with a new session or exisitng ones only ?
Also check in the audio mac core settings where you can see the aggregate devices ( if you type "midi" in the search your gonna see a piano ) look there if you have any 3rd party app driver by any chance . Post a picture here if possible !

After you record, are you importing the file into another PT session? If so, are you using "add" instead of "convert"? If the sample rate is different in the new PT session than the the sample rate in the original track, then the replay speeds will be different.

thx to both of you for the answers.
my computer is brand new so I don't have any existing session on there. Capture d’écran 2023-06-04 à 00.28.13.jpg Here's a screenshot of my audio settings though I don't know if these are the ones you were looking for because I didn't find the piano on my system settings |

I'm recording directly on pro tools so the sample rate shouldn't be an issue if my session and my playback engine are using the same.
Btw sorry for the delay on my answers guys I have a lot to deal with right now but thanks again for trying to help |
