Pro Tools Needs it\'s Own Hard Drive?
I'm running an Athlon XP 2800 (2.1Ghz) system with 2.5 Gigs RAM, a 120gig internal drive, and an 80 gig external. Can I run ProTools, Reason and Acid all from the same internal (c:) hard drive? I have all audio files being stored on the external drive, but I was hoping I could safely run all apps from the C: drive. In addition to the audio apps, is it acceptable to install other apps to the C drive? Photoshop, office, etc?
Thanks. |

Re: Pro Tools Needs it\'s Own Hard Drive?
You are misunderstanding the recommendation.
All applications are supposed to be installed in their default locations on the C: system drive. Your session files (and related audio files) are to be stored and run from a secondary drive for best performance. Large sample libraries can benefit from secondary storage as well. |
