NI Battery 1.3.2 and Protools 6.4
I can't find a way to route individual drums to individual aux input or audio channels in Protools 6.4 using the NI Battery 1.3.2 plugin. I tried creating a VST version of Battery and using the Plogue Bidule Beta to route audio but could not get Bidule to appear as a plugin in Protools 6.4. It's maddening that NI Battery does not provide this essential feature.
I'm looking for an easy drag and drop drum sampler (like Battery) where I can assign individual drums to individual tracks so I can eq them etc. I thought of ReDrum in Reason but this doesn't seem to have a way to route audio the way I want. Also in ReDrum I can't even map midi keys to the drums which blows. Also, why is every sampler I come across RTAS? Is a TDM sampler possible? - I have all this DSP available on my expensive Protools cards - why can't they be used for sampler plugins? Thanks.

Unfortunately there isn't anything that can do what you want inside of Pro Tools right now. NI and Digi are well aware that this is a problem and are working to solve it.

Re: NI Battery 1.3.2 and Protools 6.4
Thanks for replying but man that really is so bad. Sometimes I wanna return to Protool 5.3.1 on OS 9 but I'm too committed at this point to Protools 6.4. I hope a fix comes soon.

Re: NI Battery 1.3.2 and Protools 6.4
Hi Justin1524, hey, wouldn't it be the same/easier/more solid anyway to just solo each drum sound you want to go to another seperate channel, and "record" it to another audio track, then use your eq'ing and settings on it, since it will be on its very own audio track... Since you said you wanted to just "route" it to another channel anyway,,, wouldn't that just take up another track as well, so you might as well just have it as real audio on its own track... Then do that for every sound on your drums in Battery, then just remove Battery, and all Midi tracks corosponding to free up some space since you wouldn't need them anymore on that pariticular song once you "tracked" out all the drum sounds..... and then you got all your drums the way you want them, but even more solid, because its real audio that doesn't have the inconsistancies of Midi and Battery.... Plus of coarse the ability to address different settings/eq's/compression/and effects to each and every different drum sound seperately....
Don't know,,, maybe/hopefully this helps |
