Default Splitting out Background artefacts

I'm working with various ambient/natural sounds. I've been using some of the ARA plugins such as RX11 Spectral Editor to control background sounds (birds, crickets, wind etc), and it's working well.

But ... is there any way I can split out these sounds rather than minimise or remove them. e.g., with what I have in Pro Tools, is there a straightforward way of say pulling out crickets or birds to a separate track or file?

There are plenty of apps or plugins now that will do that to a music track, splitting it into vocals, drums, bass etc., but how can I split out sounds of my own choice?

there are a few third party AI plugins available that I was able to try. One is Moises which I mostly use for music, but it has features that can separate artifacts. There are other similar products that have AAX versions and stand alone apps.

In Spectral Layers pro you can select sounds and cut them to a new layer. Might do what you need

Thanks for both the suggestions, will explore further.

I'd quickly looked into these (and others) already, but in all the info/presentations, the focus is always on music tracks, so I may have missed other possibilities.

my 2 cents : "hush pro / split" can split an audio into 3 tracks = voice / background / noise. audiosuite only... i don't know if the voice channel would suit with this natural ambient user case of yours... (there is a trial and also PTExpert videos)

SpectraLayers is definitely what your need for you use case. Pro Tools comes with the Go version, but the Pro version will provide all the tools and modules you need for a non-destructive separation into several layers.
It's as much for post than for music, specially the Pro version (which is 40% off for just a couple more days).

SL Pro is on sale and you can get a discount if you crossgrade. I got it for 119.00 I think.

I too am using SpectralLayers Pro 11.0.50 with Pro Tools 2024.10.1 for film post production editing. Results wise - it's amazing!

A major problem I am having though is not all ARA data is GETTING SAVED!

If I reopen a saved session the SpectralLayers is loading and showing the "Layers" I have selected and worked on but DOESN'T recall any process (e.g. Voice DeNoise) that I applied, before saving the session.

Anyone else having this issue?

Yes my solution is to avoid ARA or render it when I'm happy with it. It is not reliable enough for Post. I'm speaking for all ARA processing not just Spectralayers (which I'm a huge fan of).
