Default Advice: used mc control - should I buy?

So I have an opportunity to get a euphonix mc control, untested, no power supply for 50-75 bucks...

Is it worth it to take that risk ,or are these known to junk out hard? Could I fix most problems these have or do they become bricks often?

I already have the artist mix, but would really like to try out the artist control portion and customizations you can now do with the latest eucon, but i don't have 700+ to get a newer one.

Any suggestions or thoughtful advice would be great.

I would, but that's just me.

Power supply is what at most $100? So even if it's bricked you can sell the screen, and the faders and the power supply.... You would probably make money

Ok, so I got it, it's in the mail. Anyone know if you can put a splitter on the artist power supplies? I'll buy one if i have to, but that's yet another plug... Also, the faceplate is a bit mangled.. any word on where to get a replacement for not 150 bucks? I'm asking my sweetwater engineer if they have spare parts, and nothing's on ebay really.. it might be one of those waiting games, which is okay. I'm not afraid of the long play.

LOL, trust me I said the same thing when I saw the price. I'm glad I only needed to replace 2 that was missing.

So I got the mc control today. plugged in my artist mix supply, turned on, has an AVID logo on the screen, vegas mode worked flawlessly... I'm pretty sure this is the best deal I've ever found on the internet. Time to buy the power supply and faceplate! Thanks for the encouragement!

We have not experienced a high volume of complaints for mechanical or cosmetic failures for Artist Transport. If you bought this before the Avid acquisition, there are several differences in supply chain, quality assurance, and manufacturing engineering in the Avid branded product.
