Default Brand /Console independent digital snake

Not sure if this is a good place to post this as it isn't Avid specific.

Can anyone recommend or suggest a digital snake product that is console independent. Most seem to have a stage box, and expect a specific console to be at the other end.
I am looking for something with a set of AD connectors at the stage end and a set of DAs at the other end where I can plug in any console. Plus a few DA/ADs for returns.

Also what is the best digital connection to use - RJ45-Cat5/6 or something else for audio dedicated?

Thanks

Dante is probably the best solution for this. But, having said that, what is your reasoning behind this need? Using hardware that was designed as a system would usually be more dependable(which is crucial in live audio)

These days you've got 3 typical connections. RJ45/"Ethernet", BNC/MADI, and Optical/various formats.

If your goal is to run a snake in a venue that can connect to anything on either end, you'd be best suited to do something like running all three of these.

2x CAT5e, or CAT6 will cover: Avid S6L desks, DiGiCo SD9, Yamaha CL or PM series, Midas Pro series, and I believe DLive series

4+ BNC will cover Avid Profile and D-Show, DiGiCo SD series, SSL Live series

2x Multi-Mode fiber to Opticon will cover DiGiCo SD series also, can be used with Avid S6L, and can be used with SSL Live (with Blacklight conversion), the complexity with Fiber is that there are so many connector formats

I'm sure there's much more nuance to this, but that's a quick overview of my thoughts on what I would want to pre install if that's what you're asking... But also, as a touring engineer, I'll almost always choose to use my own snake over the house snake, because I trust my own, and don't always trust theirs...
