Consolidating creates strange clicks/pops in rendered audio region?
Greetings,
Has anyone had an issue where consolidating a track created strange clips / clicks within the rendered audio file? Is this a bug of some kind? Sometimes I would undo the command, and re-do the consolidate until those clicks aren't rendered anymore. But it would be hassle to have to keep checking entire tracks over and over again after every consolidation just to make sure those glitches didn't get rendered. I'm running PT 11.2.1 with OSX 10.9.5 using a UA Apollo interface. Thanks for any advice! |

I get this on and off when consolidating a track with a lot of cross fades. Hasn't been bad in the latest vs of PT. But I usually just buss the track over to another in real time.

Thanks for the feedback! It's an unfortunate bug that certainly could cause some major troubles if you didn't notice the error as soon as it appeared. Consolidating is such a big part of my work flow, and this bug seems to just pop up randomly.

Re: Consolidating creates strange clicks/pops in rendered audio region?
Interesting, I've never had this issue with crossfades and consolidating. Can we confirm that the clicks and pops occur at the point of the crossfades? Is there actually a crossfade at that point, or a failed crossfade where there's only a fade out/in on one clip and the other clip starts or begins cold?

Re: Consolidating creates strange clicks/pops in rendered audio region?
I remember running across this often with Elastic Audio tracks at some point, though I don't remember anything recently. Might have even been back on 10... Are the affected tracks Elastic by any chance?

Re: Consolidating creates strange clicks/pops in rendered audio region?
I have experienced this. Someone mentioned this happening as a result of using 32- bit float for the bit depth. I had been using 32-bit and 96k. I subsequently converted to 24-bit and 96k and I have not noticed it since. The switch to 24-bit may or may not have anything to do with my experience.

Re: Consolidating creates strange clicks/pops in rendered audio region?
Thanks for the replies. It still seems to be an issue. Haven't really narrowed it down to what may be the cause. This glitch just literally causes a sudden audio clip in the consolidated region. And it doesn't occur over a warp marker or fade.
I now I have to consolidate, undo, consolidate, undo, and consolidate again until I don't see any of those strange artefacts. If anyone has further insights, would be appreciated! |

I've been using 96k 32float lately and have never experienced this, not ever.

Re: Consolidating creates strange clicks/pops in rendered audio region?
I've only experienced any consolidate bugs when my bin is sorted by 'modified date' (older regions removed from the timeline ended up in the consolidate). Sorted alphabetically always works on my rig.
