So far it looks surprisingly pleasant. The MIDI improvements actually look like real improvements(though these will have to be put to the test before they meet my full approval ).

The LE improvements are huge. Surround mixing and more possible tracks is a step in the right direction. One thing I don't see for LE is the ability to expand I/O to more than one interface, this isn't critical for me but I think it would be a smart feature to reel in people currently using other DAWs.

Aesthetically, the mix window looks a little too much like Logic for my tastes, but... everything else looks really good. Particularly the comping improvements and the score editor.

Hi,

It surely has a nice look and yes 5 more inserts were really necessary, thanks Digi !
What are those new plugins added (except VI's) ? are they DigiRack included ?
Can't wait to try Elastic Pitch too on SFX !!!!
Did you guys see the "Boom drum machine" in action ?

Cheers,

A

PS : could someone clarify " Supports files up to 4 GB in size, letting you work with longer files with higher sample rates " ?

Looks great. The automatic playlist creation for multiple takes feature will be a welcomed additon. I like the new UI and I'm curious about that Hammond B3 plug-in and how it'll compare to NI's B4.

They haven't posted an upgrade price yet so let's try not sound too excited.

EDIT: Scratch that, I'm going to sound excited. Did you see this?
"Check for Updates feature keeps Pro Tools and your plug-ins up to date". I would love to think that there will be a time when doing updates on all of your plug-ins will be a fairly painless endeavor. I would suspect that this feature may only apply to Digi plugs, at least at the time of the PT8 release.
