If it works in soundgrid it'll be a hit!

Anyone notice, or getting the same behavior, that the sustain cuts off about 4 seconds after you hit a chord? Is this because the samples are short or am I doing something wrong.

Hello,
I already have AIR Velvet 2.0 and Toontrack EZkeys Classic Electrics in my arsenal, Do I need Waves Electric 88 also in my arsenal?

It really actually sounds great. I use Velvet a lot but this thing is, as has been said, a different animal. I would try it out and see for yourself. Plus, it's only $39 now so it's pretty much a steal to just have it on hand.

+1...

Like others, I've used most of the alternatives, (& actually have a real 73 MK1)... but this is a great addition to my armoury. Recommended

Still have to bring up the question that no one has answered yet. That is what about the only four second sustain that this VI has. It sounds great but the sustain fades out after four seconds. This seems like a major drawback or oversight on the developers part. Is this different for anyone else?

Broadly speaking, the decay times seem fairly similar to the real thing. I did a quick test :

(Real) Rhodes 73Mk1 : 8 seconds*
Waves 88 Rhodes : 6.30 seconds

* (Note, I don't have a real 88 to make a true comparison).

The decay is slightly longer on the real thing, (& not as steep as the Waves version)... but it's difficult to beat the real thing!

All in all, I'd still say Waves did a fine job on this one, & it's definitely become my go-to (lazy!) option.

No I actually haven't noticed that behaviour myself.

If pain persists contact your local Waves Tech Support guy.

+1 for Velvet! $19 is a real no brainer if you don't have it already.

Thanks for posting Jack
