Default Which plugs use which chips on TDM systems...?

Every once in while I have these frustrating experiences where I max out the system usage on my Mix+ system, and can't instantiate any new plugs. But when I look at the system usage window, I have two chips on my Farm & Core cards completely free. I know certain software needs certain chips, but it gets really frustrating when every plug I try tells me there's not DSP, when there are two chips sitting idle.

What's up with that? Where can I find information about what chips can be used by what software? And why can't the Digi mixer plugin use any of the chips, and leave the special alone for the software that needs it!
