Default Re: Crackling when moving windows??

I have confirmed meanwhile that I get crackles when connected, and can consistently make them go away by disabling my NIC.

Try disabling the Wi-Fi. That's one of the Avid Optimizations you might have missed.

Cheers,

update: it seems to become more evident if i have 7-8 cores available in pro tools, if i set it to 6 or below it is better (but still unusable) - so could it be something with the cpu settings? i have speedstepping disabled.
-and just to make sure:
I have NO conflicting irq anywhere.

That is normal in many cases - please see the General Troubleshooting thread for info about why reducing the number of host processors may be necessary for proper operation of Pro Tools.

I would try dropping it further to see if it improves even more.

Considering that you missed that particular step from the General Troubleshooting thread, it makes me wonder what else you may have overlooked. Can you go through that thread again and verify that you've done all the optimizations and troubleshooting?

Its been a while now so i dont remember what i have read anymore:)
I'll go through it again.

And going lower than 4 cores doesn't help. It only gets worse. It seems that between 4-6 cores is the best. But still unusable.
