Default Just upgraded to a 610, weird things happening.

I just sold off my 1814 and bought a 610. Hooked it up yesterday.

And Pro Tools is doing some weird things now.

I was going to play around with routing a small session thru my mixer, so I changed one of the tracks to a different output from the default, and immediately, the pan and faders will not move. on ANY track. on ANY session. When I delete digi prefs, it acts normal again. repeat steps, it all happens again.

with the 1814, I never had any trouble.

I have the latest and greatest driver installed for the 610. I have CS1 installed on PT8. Not sure what to do here, but I'm bummed out, because I'm pining for my old 1814 that I already sold and shipped out.

Which version of CS1 do you have? The first version caused very similar problems to the one you are describing with PTLE. Fewer complaints (and probably fewer updates) with the reposted CS1.

Might be worthwhile to roll back to the original PTMP 8 release to see if you have the same issues.

What he said. It sure does sound like cs1 v1.

Thanks guys. I'll take a look at that CS1 thing.
Over the weekend, I completely uninstalled the 610 driver and reinstalled it and i THINK (knock on wood) it's ok now. But that's weird. I didn't do anything different. I've been installing M-Audio firewire devices for a few years now (410, 1814, and now the 610), so i know the whole procedure like the back of my hand.

If it starts acting up again, I'll uninstall CS1. I am pretty sure I got the second release of CS1. I remember it coming out, and me ignoring it at first, because I never rush to do those things if everything is working ok. But I did have that issue where 'plugins disappeared if I added another one' thing happen. So I went to get CS1 and it had been pulled. Then I checked again a few days later and it was available.

Either way, hope things go alright. I HATE that evil blue light on that 610. It's so bright I need to put a piece of electrical tape over it! lol. My 410 was like that too, but somehow my 1814 was nice and mellow.

Sure enough, it's happening again. I'll uninstall CS1 and see what that does.

On top of it, the channel 1 pre on the 610 has an insane hiss and distortion going on. i'm really regretting selling my 1814. the pres in it were lame and the AD/DA mediocre, but it was rock solid. I didn't have to worry about anything.

This thing is going back for a refund.
