missing plugins with PT8 download
Is Boom, Hybrid and Synchronic supposed to come with Pro tools LE8? I upgraded and had a friend download PT8 to my back up drive and i also searched some of the folders to see if they were there and they are not. Anyone know about this?

Re: missing plugins with PT8 download
Boom is included and should install with the program.
Hybrid and Synchronic are not. For a list of included plugins, see THIS PAGE ~

Re: missing plugins with PT8 download
Do you know how i can get Boom and the grand piano, that's missing as well ? i was unable to find it on digi website.
Also, i'm finding it very difficult to find all the authorizations codes for all these other things like Melodyne and the lite 6 thing, and supposedly these come with Pro tools le 8. |

Boom, Mini Grand, DB-33, Vacuum, etc etc are installed with the "Pro Tools Creative Collection" in PT8. They are installed with the Pro Tools software. They are not available separately. If you are having a problem with them not installing, you should re-run the Pro Tools 8 installer and make sure that the "Pro Tools Creative Collection" is selected during install and installing properly when you install Pro Tools. For the rest of that stuff; melodyne , live 6 lite, etc, check your "My Digi" account at Digidesign.com. All of the stuff that you are eligible for will be located there.

Re: missing plugins with PT8 download
If i re-install pt8 what do you recommend doing to back up my songs, could i just "save as" the session files to my back up drive and then un-install and then re- install PT 8?

Re: missing plugins with PT8 download
Before you do anything, you've definitely searched for a folder called 'Pro Tools Creative Collection'? (where the bonus gear is stored?).

Re: missing plugins with PT8 download
i've already been there i think, i've tried to open the folder called "BOOM" and it is empty. I'm not at my computer to try to open the collection but i'm pretty sure i accessed the Boom folder in there?

The only time it would is if you were (very) mistakenly saving your sessions inside the Digidesign Databases folder on your sessions drive. With that said, backing up sessions is a VERY smart idea no matter what. "Save Copy In..." from within the program is the best way to ensure that you are backing up all of the session data. There are also multiple backup solutions that are definitely recommended (Acronis True Image or some other disk imaging software, external backup drives, DVD-R, etc)

Re: missing plugins with PT8 download
What odd about this situation, is that some of the virtual instruments are there, for example, i have the organ, and xpand and couple other, but Boom and the piano are missing. If i go to the Creative collections folder, they are all empty, even the Xpand! which i do have! My friend downloaded the PT8 for my on my back up drive and then installed it on my computer. Do i have to download the entire thing again? IT sounds like the problem might be with my friend who downloaded everything. He must have checked the creative collections right? because some of the virt instuments are there.
