Default Emac with Mbox - anyone have this setup? recomending it to my friend -is this good?

i have a g4 with a 001,
but my friend who does not have internet access ( he just came from Europe ) saw my set up and now wants me to recomend a cheap but good set up.

hows this?

The Emac 700mhz
40 gig HD
512 RAM

running on The M box

will this do the trick?

does the E mac hard drive run at 7200 rpm?
if not, does it do a good job still?

will he need a second hard drive, or can you get by with the one HD on the Emac?

is the 700mhz Emac more powerful than my 533 G4?

THANKS GUYS

if he will need a second hard drive, what is the way to go? an external one right? which one would be the best? will it give the Emac any problems doing a second "external" HD? - especially since the Mbox is already slowing things down by being USB dependent.

This is a quote from the Digi Mbox compatibility section:

"Mbox is supported on all Macintosh computers that shipped with a built in USB port."

So yes it works on eMacs...

Although, if my recent experience is typical, the compatibility docs may need to be revised soon. See "iBook, Jaguar Compatibility" post. Caveat emptor.

i have an emac 700 with cd writer and 256 ram.
it works perfectly with mbox. no complaints. i import projects from tdm and digi001 on it to edit the songs.
that also works perfect. 24 tracks with 30+ plugins.
only when bouncing the mix i get some usb warning messages. i audiosuite some plugins and connect an external firewire drive to bounce to and that worked also. i tried to record something in protools using the mbox and that was a bit tricky. i did a quick try, so i have to figure it out someday, but compared to a digi001 and tdm it was a bit annoying with latency etc.
greetings, tantejo.
