Default Play and Pause Together?

I'm new to PT 6.2.2 and can't figure out what's going on in this situation.

I have a two tracks recorded. I'll hit the play button and everything will play fine. Then I'll either hit the stop button or the space bar. The tracks will stop.

Now when I hit the play button again, it seems like the play button flashes and then the stop button flashes (and pause is displayed at the bottom of the edit screen) right after it. And nothing plays. It seems to go into play mode for a fraction of a second then it pauses.

I'm figuring that I have a preference set incorrectly but I can't figure out which one. Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks,
LeonD
