Default Import sesion data - track input inactive - SD2 Multi-out

I've created a session template to use with Superior drummer. Using the mulit out mode I've got 16 stereo aux tracks with all the kit components sent to them with all my favourite plugins on them etc. The only problem is when I try to import the session data all the inputs on the aux tracks have the correct i/o assignment but they are greyed out.

If I right click on the I/O and choose "Make active" it says "The input could not be made active because the input is forced inactive".

When importing the session data the "Track data import" "input Assignments" item is checked.

If I reassign the I/O everything works fine but the defeats the propose as creating the track assignments is the majority of the work.

It sounds like their is a problem reconciling the plugin outputs as track inputs at session data import. Try importing in two steps. First, import the track with SD on it only. Then, try importing the routing tracks second.

When I read that I thought that would work but unfortunately it didn't.

Sorry but no, I never solved it. I have to remap the I/O to the plugin every time I import the tracks..

Same here. I just re-select the inputs.

Has anyone found a solution to this issue? I've got the same problem here on a Mac as well. Big pain.

Has anyone tried to find out through support from Toontrack or Avid whether this is a plugin issue or a host issue?

I just bought PT11 this week and I ran into the issue trying to get myself properly organized for sessions after coming from four other DAW hosts.

Is this an issue with any other multi-out softsynth?

I'd like to see this sorted out. There is no excuse for a top of the line host or soft sampler not to work as advertized with basic workflow features.

This is definitely a Pro Tools issue, I get this with Play and Kontakt also, under PT 10.3.4 on OSX 10.8.5

Just some thoughts:

Do you have "sessions overwrite current I/O settings" ticked in the I/O bus tab?
(Turn off to keep your settings)

Have you exported your custom routings from the I/O window?
Redue older templates by importing new I/O settings.

SD2 is in my templates and constantly works well.
