Avid stock is down 1.77% as of right now, but the rest of the tech-heavy Nasdaq is down about 2.67%. Avid took their major licking the other day after the earnings call - today's drop in price is not due to anything AVID did specifically, but is representative of the broader market, IMHO.

If AVID really needs quick cash, maybe they could sell off the ProTools division.
Why don't you rich pros put together a consortium and make them an offer they cant refuse.

I wonder how much the ProTools division would sell off for? For those in the US there's a huge Powerball jackpot which draws tomorrow night (Wednesday) and at current estimates, and depending on state taxes, would clear in the area of $77 million after taxes assuming one takes the lump sum payout. Get some lucky winner here to buy out the PT division. Would probably have some funds left over to rebate everyone who got overcharged for the upgrade to PT10.

I'd like to see AVID's PT 10 sales statistics-
What % of registered users both HD and Non-HD have paid the asking price.
We all may be surprised. Id like to see these numbers, compared to other jumps like 7 to 8 and 8 to 9 to see if the same # of people are paying or if the masses are refusing to pay.

This is terrible. Really. I want them to succeed, and I want to help them. Avid, change, change now, get your loyal customers back on board, let's all succeed together.

+1 Barry...
People seem to think we are bitching just to be annoying and we are "haters." They dont get it that we want AVID to succeed and be partners with us so that EVERYONE wins-- They make a healthy profit and continue to innovate and we use them to make our businesses profitable as well.

So simple.

In that case people should stop whining about the price, and do like me buy PT10!

Even AVID's own employees want to see it better....

Might not be so easy after all. At least if you read what folks from the inside have to say
