Does the PT Upgrade/Reinstatement Plan Give Me PERPETUAL License?

Hi guys,

I purchased a license for PT10 LE years ago (specifically the LE to Pro Tools 10.0 Crossgrade) and have been using it ever since. I'm thinking of upgrading to PT12 now, and see an upgrade/reinstatement plan here for $299 (https://www.avid.com/pro-tools/pricing).

My question is: would this $299 upgrade be a perpetual license for PT12, or is it something where I have to keep paying annually?

A perpetual license is included with upgrade plans. This includes updates for one year. After that you can renew your plan for $99/year.

If it says subscription, then it is subscription. If it says anything else, it is perpetual. That is at least how I have let myself understand this... Just bear in mind that once your support plan elapses, you might not get the updates so don't let that run out...

The license is perpetual, but if you don't renew annually, you will be stuck at 12 (or whatever version is current at that time - you do NOT lose the license if the plan stops)... However between $99 a year or $299 every few years to reinstate, it feels like a no-brainer to me
