Default Import Session Data Problems with 7.4

I've just submitted a bug report to Digidesign and was wondering if anyone else is having this problem/has a workaround.

"I keep my session clean and organized by creating a session file, importing all tracks from my current session into this "backup" session, and deleting bounced, inactive tracks from my current session. I've done this importing twice since upgrading to PT 7.4 yesterday. When I use the Import Session data command to get the tracks into the backup session (making sure to use the "link to source media" option), everything is fine until I open up my current session again. The regions from one elastic audio track could not be found, and so were the regions from around 10 total inactive tracks (temporarily inactive, not the tracks I deleted). The files were still on the harddrive and in the backup session fine. The option to automatically find and relink the regions would not work. I had to manually find and commit the links for about 70 audio files one by one."

edit: sorry I forgot my specs

I'm running 7.4cs2 on a powermac G5 2.3 GHz with 6.5 gb of ram, OS 10.4.9
