Default Video excluded from Win98 version?

Hi all.

The mac version of ProTools FREE supports video, but I can't find this for the life of me in the PC version (I'm still using R1).

Has it been excluded from the PC, or is there something wrong with my installations (wrong Quicktime version or something?).

Thanks!

Tony

PS: Anyone else trying to use this software for simple DV post-production sound? We'd like to use it alongside our RT2000 system.

There is no video support for the PC. It seems that no one knows whether Digi EVER plans to make that happen. This is true of Pro Tools LE as well as Pro Tools Free. It might even be true of the Windows NT TDM systems (not sure on that).

Bummer!

Hi Tony/QuickDraw,

QuickTime support is planned for a future version of Pro Tools and Pro Tools LE on Windows. This feature may "trickle down" to the FREE version as well (still under discussion).

I can't talk about specific release plans/dates, but I wanted to let you know we're working on it (a proto version is actually running already but needs cleanup and optimization).

Regards,

So it's been quite some time since the last post. How about releasing that "beta" version of Win PT Free with quicktime??

Surely it's been cleaned up by now.

They did get it going. Moviesupport is implemented in the last version of ptle 5.3.1. So keep[ your hopes up, and hope it will trickle down...
