PT 2020.11 and Melodyne Essential 5

You are correct. The audio-to-midi feature requires any version of Melodyne 5.1 and you do not need to reinstall if you already have it.

It used to be 49 couple of days ago, but I guess it was too popular and they changed it. For me, 20 is basically nothing and will be ignoring the offer, but while I was recovering from jetlag during the weekend I actually was thinking of upgrading with that 49 discount. Oh well, need to use version 4 for advanced features and keep 5.1 essential installed for audio-to-midi.

Sadly, Melodyne does not allow multiple version numbers to be installed together. I dragged my feet on upgrading Version 4 Studio, but I pulled the trigger yesterday and am now running 5.1 Studio. So far, all the new features make this a no-brainer. Now if Celemony could just master the vibrato on stretched notes(like ReVoice Pro did).....................

If your update plan expires, will Melodyne continue to work on 202.11? Basically is it a perpetual licence?

My thinking exactly. If true that they reduced the value of the code because it was selling too well, this sounds like some strange logic i.e. this is popular ... so let's make it less so! €20 will make little difference whatsoever to any upgrades they were already getting from the PT community and, if anything, will lead to a more contrived Melodyne installation/user experience, where Celemony should be looking for maximum ease like with Studio One :)

Good question! I have another one: From my understanding Melodyne Essential is authorized via a serial number. Is this bound to one computer or can it be used on multiple machines? I move my iLok with all my licenses frequently between machines. Anyone got an answer to that?
