Need help with allocating DSP
I would like someone to explain to me in a manor that makes sense how the DSP allocation works in 7.1 HD. I have been running all my sessions in 48voice 1DSP but have run into a few instances when mixing where I have run out of DSP. I have an HD2 Accell rig on a G5 with 4gigs of ram. At most I usually only have 24 tracks of audio and maybe 16 plugins going. I tried switching to 32 voice 2 DSP and it seemed to give me even less DSP to work with. This doesn't make sense to me, shouldn't 2 DSP be better than 1? Could someone explain this?

What way did you get less DSP to work with? what exactly did you have less of?? and what problems are you having? Running on 1 dsp 48 voices should be fine, unless you start to get error messages during playback! in which case try moving up to 2 DSP's. Chris
