Default HPET timers vs. Lynx AES16 -&- PT 12.3.1

Tested all settings,

HPET disabled in Bios + HPET disabled in Windows7
HPET enabled in Bios + HPET enabled in Windows7
HPET enabled in Bios + HPET disabled in Windows7
HPET disabled in Bios + HPET enabled in Windows7

The only thing I didn't tested was reinstalling the drivers...ver. 19g

Without reinstalling drivers, Lynx AES16 goes crazy...
Some Random Inputs get DC hum at -12dB,
Lot's of dropouts.

Quote:
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
All good again.
If want to try HPET with your pc/interface:

Quote:
bcdedit /set useplatformclock true
&
bcdedit /set useplatformclock false
With & without HPET Enabled in Bios.

I recommend at least 2 reboots to let Windows adapt to the new settings.
This only works with boards that have HPET option in the BIOS.
Search WinTimerTester_1.1 if want to verify HPET 14MHz clock is Active.
And DPC Latency Tester / Checker.

Got curious about HPET timers & Audio reading this:

High Precision Timer
Select Enabled to activate the High Precision Event Timer (HPET) that produces periodic interrupts at a much higher frequency than a Real-time Clock (RTC) does in synchronizing multimedia streams, providing smooth playback and reducing the de- pendency on other timestamp calculation devices, such as an x86 RDTSC Instruc- tion embedded in the CPU. The High Performance Event Timer is used to replace the 8254 Programmable Interval Timer.
The options are Enabled and Disabled.
-Supermicro.

Other thing I could have tested was disabling HyperThreading.
Maybe later...
