Default Uninstall PT7.4.2 first?

I can't seem to find this answer. PTLE 8 is an upgrade... just let it write over version 7.4.2 or.... uninstall previous version? Says nothing in the Read Mes about this.

do a clean uninstall of 7.4.2 first.

reboot, install 8, repair permissions, reboot.

Barstool, thanks again, I thought to uninstall, but confused about why Digi calling version 8 an upgrade. I was able to DL all through My Digi.

Wouldn't it be best to not call it an upgrade.... but stand alone version.

Uninstall with version 7 uninstaller, or use version 8

I agree. It is kinda misleading.

Yeah, use the 7.4.2 uninstaller in applications/digidesign/pt utilites/wherever it is.... I know it's the only thing in the folder.

Good luck!

Relatively painless, and new features are great.. not sure I'm with the "all grey" Logic look, but I'll get used to it.

I didn't uninstall 7.4.2 for fear that PT8 might look for it as an install requirement. I've had no significant issues other than the Moogerfooger issue that others have mentioned. Everything seems okay.
