Default Gone Native - Yippee ... It Works !

After several deep breaths into the paper bag, I uninstalled my PT8 HD3 system and went native with PT 10 HD.

Shazam ... everything works nicely and the audio is most excellent.

The only minor glitch was the firmware update on the HD Native card.

Forum to the rescue ... moved the card to another PCIe slot and the firmware update proceeded.

Since my HD Native card was in a dusty PT9 box, it appears that they are trying to unload some day-old bread.

Best wishes to all for a healthy New Year!

I did the same, and had the same issue with the firmware. Really they ought to pull those old boxes at this point, flash them and bundle with PT10!

Hi,

Which slot worked for the upgrade?

Thanks,
Steve

Initially, I installed the Native card in slot 2.

When the firmware update failed, I moved it to slot 3 and the firmware update proceeded.

I do not know why moving it to another slot would make a difference.

I feel fortunate that this work-around was mentioned here on the forum.

Me too. Loving it. Using UAD2 quad card as well. Well worth looking in to. Some nice plugs for it.

Just tried v10.1 plugin installers for Revibe, Reverb One and Impact and all are now native and run fine on HD Native. Nice! Getting back some of those lost plugins from TDM-land.

It would only be in your Avid account, if it's anywhere.
