is it possible? HD NATIVE and HD1 in the same MAC
many people want to use the HD NATIVE for mixing and HD TDM for tracking. that makes sense.
is it technically possible to have two PCI cards in ONE MAC - HD NATIVE and HD CORE? i could plug the 192 interface to HD TDM card when i track, then shut down the system, reconnect the cable to HD NATIVE card and mix natively crazy? or possible? |

They will not work this way. Max Gutnik from Avid has stated this specifically. I don't remember where, but I think it was on Gearslutz.

Yep. You cannot use an HD Native card and HDX on the same system. The HD Native cards have no way to aggregate.

Re: is it possible? HD NATIVE and HD1 in the same MAC
just use a 3rd party interface for the HD Native engine when you need it & use the 192 interface & HD1 core for TDM duties.
Remember you don't need a HD Native card when you have core audio support with 3rd party interfaces. I've got a Lynx AES16e PCIe card that can run 32 channels of digital I/O using the native engine for Pro Tools HD. then when I need TDM I can switch back to the blue interface again. |
