Hi all,
I have two Artist Mix surfaces that previously worked fine. I recently bought a new Mac Studio Ultra and migrated from my prior MacBook Pro installation. I'm running the same cables I was using before to the same network switch I was using before as well as the same cable to connect the switch to the computer. No matter what I do I cannot see either Artist Mix on the Surfaces tab of EuControl Settings: - I'm running the latest version of MacOS - 12.6. - I updated EuControl to the latest (Sept. 2022) version. - I fully uninstalled and reinstalled EuControl 2022.9 several times. - I ran the Discovery Bonjour app and saw nothing there for EuControl; I changed my computer name and then was able to see some EuControl information. With Logic Pro X running, it added a few more lines - screenshot attached. - I haven't yet tried to run to a Thunderbolt dock on the way to the computer. Is this really necessary? Sure would appreciate some help on getting these fine devices running. Thanks so much! Kevin |

Most likely it is the Security settings in Monterey blocking Eucontrol. Make sure both Eucontrol and MC Client have Accessibility privileges in the Security/Privacy tab in System Preferences.

Good call BScout. I struggled with the exact same thing first few hours of setting up my Artist mix with eucontrol. Never thought about it since.

Try this..
A workaround we think fixes the issue is to change your computer name and reboot. It can be just one character. This is done in System Preferences->Sharing. Don’t use the Edit button, just change it right in the Computer Name field then tab out of it. There was an issue with migration and Bonjour. I’m not sure if it was fixed with .9 release. Another possibility is Eucon doesn’t like the 10Gb Ethernet connection on the Mac Studio. I vaguely remember that being an issue for some. These are issues with MacOS not PT or EUCON. The migration tool is buggy, the 10GB port doesn't like 100mb connections, there's a bug in the accessibility settings that shows EUCON apps(and others) allowed but they are not really.

Hey folks, thanks so much for everybody jumping in on this. I spent a lot of time reading posts on this topic before I posted, and I recognized a lot of your names. Thanks so much for being so helpful to the community!
Appreciation out of the way, I did try everything you all suggested before posting - all to no avail. However, I was in the process of connecting an old TB3 dock I had laying around and discovered that my network switch was not working properly. I've now fixed that and now I can see the Artist Mixes on the Surfaces tab. I may have other problems to come, but I am now past this wall at least. Thanks so much for your help! CajunKev |

it's working fine on mine...monterey latest, eucon latest...I use direct connect, cheapo usb to 1g ethernet thingy, it's a bit ropey going through the switch (performance is much smoother direct connect)...

Hello, Ii posted this to another thread in the forume as well. PLease let me know if this is not the right practice as I'm new here.
I'd like to participate to this discussion as I have similar problem of Artist mix not being seen inside Eucon's software "all surface" tab. I have a brand new Geekom IT13 mini pc. I freshly installed pro tools 2023.12, eucon 2023.11, running on windows 11 24H2. Artist mix is connected to ethernet physical port directly with a CAT5e patch ethernet cable. I also have a Dell precision M6700 laptop running on Windows 10 23H2. (I have no problem using the artist surface with this older pc and the same versions of pro tools and eucon software) I need to mention also that it was generally messy since the first installation of Eucon as in windows 11 there is that Memory integrity setting into Security system setting. And the eucon driver was not allowed to start. So I had to fix that by disabling the memory integrity option. more details: All pc drivers are up to date (computer's manufacturer versions) -Artist mix's firmware is updated to its latest available version. The surface though looks like working correctly as I manage to use it with my older Dell precision M6700 laptop and in this case it can be seen in eucon software and be used in pro tools without problems. -Ethernet adapter of Geekom IT13 seems to working fine as I manage to connect it on the internet using the same cat5e patch ethernet cable. And this is with either wifi enabled or disabled. Also when I connect Geekom IT13 directly to Dell precision M6700 via their ethernet ports I manage to have a correct local network between them. -Diagnostic on Geekom mini pc finds nothing -Diagnostic on Dell pc sometimes shows that the Ethernet doesn't have a valid IP configuration (therefore with this laptop Ii don't have any problems regarding avid artist mix!!) -Both avid artist mix and pc's ethernet adapters are actually on DHCP mode for the IP adress. Their drivers seem to working fine -Firewall is set to allow connections from pro tools, eucon, mc client, bonjour -Discoverability is enabled for both pc's on both public and private network (not sure if this is a relevant setting for artist mix though) I've tried lots of things but nothing works for the moment. Among them: -renaming pc -setting static IP on both pc and avid surface, or either of both respectively -restarting surface, pc, router, eucon and mc client -disabling eucon from auto-launch apps -changing cables -disabling wi-fi -restarting and reinstalling EUCON -restart network adapters -Reset network settings Would you please have any recommendations as it is really frustrating. Could it be a compatibility problem with the latest windows 11 version? I don't think it's the case, Neither a driver problem, neither a surface problem. Probably something to have with Geekom IT13 ethernet port, but WHAT? Any advise or thought would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance! |
