Compatibility of PT11 and OS X 10.10.4 & How to download PT11 again

Hello PT experts,

We would like to know the compatibility of Pro Tools 11 and Mac OS X 10.10.4.
We appreciate if any of you let us know compatibility and any occurring problems who are already using PT11 and Mac OS X 10.10.4

We also need to download PT 11 to a new computer (Mac OS X 10.10.4). Because we have been having problems with current one.
We would like to download PT11 to a new computer for replacement. But we have never experienced replacement before.
Right now we are working with current Mac although it has some problems.

If any experts are reading this, please help us toward to how to download PT11 from Avid website and how to certify to a new computer with iLok.

This combination was not tested and is therefore not supported by Avid. Only Pro Tools v12.1 was qualified for Mac OS X 10.10.4.

Sign into your Avid account at avid.com (click sign in / register), then select My products and subscriptions. You should be able to download v11.3.1 from there.

You have to take the iLok you are using with your current computer and connect it to the new computer.

Don't we need Activation Code? Will it work just using iLok after download?

Once PT is activated/registered there's no need for that code. Install the latest ILM software, install PT, make sure your iLok2 with the PT license asset on it is plugged in and you should be good to go.

Suggestion: when you get the download for PT keep the download in a safe place. Burn it to a dvd/flash drive/external hard drive/whatever. I save off every new PT download so if I have to reinstall I have it right at hand. It also helps if you get a new revision of PT and it doesn't quite work right for you you can then back date to an earlier revision.

Almost forgot - don't forget to download the Avid instruments bundle as that's a separate download.

So after installed PT, what we need to do is just to connect USB iLok?

Following another advice, we are going to copy downloaded "installer" from Avid site to the external HD. Is this what you mean?

Also another advice of downloading Avid instruments bundle, is it two of them below? ... if not, should we download those two of them too?

- Avid Virtual Instruments 10.3 Installer for Pro Tools 10.x (Mac) (2.72 GB)

We are glad to hear that!

If you don't mind, We would like to know about the music scene in Switzerland.
What type of music people are interested most?
In our impression, Classical music is most.
However, Are people listening to other music like progressed Jazz or improvisational music too?
Otherwise, we have a strong impression of Physics in Geneva which fascinate us.
Is there much music too?

I already answered your questions but once again:
Yes you need the iLok2 plugged into your daw computer

Once you have PT downloaded keep a safety copy wherever you want to so it won't get over written or damaged. It can be on any device with enough storage capacity to hold it and the instruments download.

You only need both instruments downloads if you have both PT10 and PT11. If you just have PT11 that's the only instruments download you need.

I just used the phrase 'Avid instruments bundle' as a generic term.
