Bounce issue: \"pop\"... no audio...
weird occurrence happened while bouncing a session the other day.
i went to bounce and as soon as i clicked OK (to begin bouncing), i heard a "pop" and the timer started counting down (bouncing the track), and there was no audio. i hit esc, to cancel the bounce and when i tried to play the session back, there was no audio... the meters were moving, but no sound. i restarted PT, loaded the session, and when i played the track it was fine. so, i tried to bounce again... same deal. no audio on the bounce. i've bounced different projects that day, and this is the only session that's one giving me this problem... anyone else run into this? thanks! peace. - |

Re: Bounce issue: \"pop\"... no audio...
make sure you have your output assignments correct. I’m sorry - I know that sounds basic, but I had that problem once. It turned out to be that I had bus 1-2 selected instead of A 1-2. I was just overlooking it because I glanced and saw 1-2 and assumed it was correct.
also, have you tried to trash prefs, empty trash, and restart? you didn't mention it so I wasnt sure. If that doesn’t work, I’d go for the digi database files on all your drives, empty trash, and restart. Of course, make sure Pro Tools is not running when you do those. a workaround could be to Record to a stereo track. bus your maser out to a stereo track input and just record, then export your file as whatever format you're trying to bounce it as. I believe this gives you a little better quality anyway since bounce to disk seems to thin automation as it processes. Thats just my opinion though. Hopefully one of the solutions I've named can help.

Re: Bounce issue: \"pop\"... no audio...
What version of PT are you using? There was a bug like this in the very early PT7 versions that was later fixed. You can resolve the issue by going into the Playback Engine dialog and toggling any of the paramaters - this somehow 'restarts' the DAE engine and you can work again.
If you are on PT7.0 or similar, you should definitely look to upgrade ASAP. |
