Mbox 3 Pro has super hot line inputs?
Hey guys,
Doing some basic testing of my setup I noticed that if I run a signal into my line inputs it comes it WAY hotter than if I send the same signal from the same source in via S/DIF. I'm running an API A2D and if I take a line out into the line it is much louder than the same signal running into S/PDIF. Anyone know why this is? The way I have it set both should be at unity gain. Thanks! |

Re: Mbox 3 Pro has super hot line inputs?
I suspect its the difference between analog and digital. Analog outs on the API are likely set for +4, while the SPDIF out(for the same level) would be closer to -12dbFS

Hmm, interesting. I'm seeing about 5db different on the levels, though I haven't run a sine wave through it so I'm not sure the exact difference.
