Default Kompakt Instruments in PT

I'm having stability issues with running East West Kompakt plugins like Stormdrum and Percussive Adventures as RTAS so I wanted to run them on their own outside of Protools on the same computer..I 'm on a dual 2 G5. With no Rewire, any suggestions on the best way to route the output from Kompakt into PTHD?

Hi,

best would be to use Kontakt 2.1.1 - if you have it. Or use two machines...

best

So Kompakt 2.1.1 would allow me to route the audio into PT? Or are you suggesting to use Kompakt 2.1.1 as a host to somehow run these standalone instruments like Stormdrum?

He wrote Kontakt. Do you have the latest Kompakt player? I think it's 1.0.8.

I dont have any of the players..I just use the standalone player of Stormdrum (which I have the latest version of). Am I misunderstanding you guys or are you suggesting that there's a way to somehow use Kontakt, Kompakt to host the Stormdrum samples and route the audio to PT?

Stormdrum and Percussive Adventures ships with NIs Intakt. At least Stormdrum also supports Kompakt.

Right...So let's say Ive been running Stormdrum and Colossus, etc.. as RTAS plugins in PTHD and they aren't stable. I know that if I run them as standalones outside of PT they will be stable. Now the question is, is there a way to route the output so that when I run them outside of PT I can somehow "Rewire" them back into PT?

I guess a more runaround method is to use the digital output on the back of the G5 and route that back into PTHD, but I feel there should be a better way....ideas anyone? Thank you!

I've got the same problem. Stormdrum and percussive Adventures are almost unusable, with clicks and pops, failure to clock correctly. Worked fine under 6.9.2. I went to NI to see if there were updates but I'm up to date.

What version of PT are you running? PT 7? Intakt or Kompakt are not PT 7-optimized, so you might get a much better performance if you use only one RTAS processor (Setup > Playback engine).

You could also try a higher H/W Buffer Size if you now use 128-256 samples.

Have you tried wrapping the VST version of Intakt to RTAS?
