How to accurately spot HD QT in Pro Tools?
I having trouble spotting 23.976 QT movies into a 23.976 session.
Here's what I'm doing: • Once I pull the movie into the session, in grid mode (1 frame) I find a frame in the burn-in of the video and give it a sync point. • Go to Spot mode, click on the video and spot it to the timecode where I placed the sync point. • Go to Slip or Grid mode and click randomly in the timeline and 9 times out of 10 the video burn-in will not match the session timecode. It's a frame off. Anyone else working with HD picture experiencing this? I understand from a friend that he doesn't work in 23.98 because they can't spot the video frame accurately either. They work 29.97, but it's still haphazard. What's going on here? Just for information I'm on a G5 running 10.3.9 and PT 6.9. HD QuickTimes are being created from HD masters using a DeckLink HD card controlled via 9-pin. |

Re: How to accurately spot HD QT in Pro Tools?
Search 24p and 23.976 in the post forum.
I know there have been issues with QT and 24p especially with OMFs from FCP. |
