Need help configuring an Omni

Forgive my ignorance as I searched and didn't find what I needed.

I have an Omni that I want to use the spdif I/O to an outboard CD burner which also has a digital I/O in order to make safety copies outside of my computer storage as well as make cd copies for clients who use them in their car as do I.

I can't seem to make this work and the book mentions the spdif briefly and even shows it hooked up to a DAT.

The funny part is I had it working at one time exactly as I have it planned but in rearranging my console it got unhooked and scrambled and now I cant figure it. I think the hardware setup page is correct but maybe not.

Thanks. In advance. No shaming please. I have 32 channels of I/O with Ultimate running an Avid 16 analog and a AD-16x. The omni is basically the playback distribution and an extra couple of mic pres.

You mean an Avid HD IO 16x16 and a AD16X and an Omni?

How exactly are they connected? Did that DigiLink or sync/clock cabling/config change? How is the AD16X configured on DigiLink, did this change?

We cannot guess what you are doing or can see. What shows up? Do you see all the DigiLink interfaces in Pro Tools hardware setup?

In hardware setup, make sure the optical output is set to Spidf rather than Adat, if you haven't already done so.

Also, wouldn't it be faster and easier to just bounce down a file and use a disc burner, or are doing it this way so you can monitor in real time as it's recording?
