Default It was all going so well when...

Ok, I just setup my new system:

Asus Tusl 2c Motherboard
Pentium III 1 ghz
512 pc133 mb ram
Windows ME

Everything including the digi is running fine, but it's saying I only have 256mb ram when I have a 512 stick in the first memory slot. As far as I know, the bios settings are correct, and this little problem is really frustating me. Is it the memory? Is it the motherboard? Some config. setting that I'm missing?

Thanks,

Gabe

Hi,

there are two things you could check out.

1) does your system supports 512MB memorymodules?

2) if so: does it accept double-sided simms

i had a simular problem with my pc and it turned out that i could only use 128MB simms and not the 256MB ones. Limited by my mainboard... but i have 384 MB now and thats enough for me (now.....)

I hope this helps a bit

Go to www.crucial.com and plugin your motherboard in the space provided. They will give you the SDRAM that will work in your computer.
Good luck.
