Default Pro Tools 2024.9 Thoughts

FIRST!!!

What do ya'll expect from 2024.9?

Besides the obvious that it will release at the same time as MacOS Sequoia without any support for MacOS Sequoia...a September tradition around here I guess.

(Sequoia is annoying to spell by the way)

I hope my 4 to 5-Year wait for Bug PT-263050 to be fixed is complete so I can upgrade the entire studio.

The bug has caused me to fall behind more than an entire tech cycle of hardware

I don't want anything new, I just want Pro Tools Ultimate to be as rock solid and stable as possible. I want Avid to really care about our audio and I want to be able to trust them with it.

I want all Sketch items removed from Pro Tools menus and installers, make it 100% completely independent - so I don't have to deal with it.

I expect it to be 2024.10

(someone on Mac Updater has skewed the versions of Pro Tools so there's now one showing "2024.10" in their system)

Yes. Remove all this bloatware.

The video engine needs to be Apple Silicon. This is WAY overdue.

And yes the bloatware, which, I fear, is only going to grow, needs to be curbed.

And bring back the previous way of handling memory locations.

Otherwise, I don't have many complaints. It's been pretty solid and I'm getting work done; not fighting with crashes, etc.

Issues I run into tend to be related to 3rd party plugins, so I guess I'd like to see more devs brought up to 2024.

Don't care about Sequoia support just yet. I'm using it on a test machine and don't see much real value over Sonoma when it comes to production.

I generally like Sketch, but I would like to be able to record directly to the iPad Mini's memory. Specifically, I would use my iPad Mini as a recorder, with the external audio interface being the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 4th Generation.
Cable via iPad mini and Focusrite is working, I need to be able to record into iPad memory, simply and conveniently—just connect it and the recording can start. Not sure if that is possible, but I also hope that all this stuff will be improved, so I can use the iPad and Focusrite as a useful portable recorder.

Actually, I love Sketch
