They officially retired this a few months back. I haven't used it in a couple decades. It was a cool plugin upon release but many others have entered the equation and shot way past the Farm.

I'm not sure why I did it. 14.6 was working so well for me. I figured the point one update was probably just some security stuff. Under 14.6.1, Pro Tools is graphically very sluggish now. The update broke a utility that I use called ipMidi. The ipMidi utility completely broke Logic. Took a whole day of digging to sort it. Deleted the utility. Logic is fine now. Pro Tools is still sluggish but usable.

I wonder if reintallsting ipMidi would help. Sometimes with a new OS files get moved around and old software struggles. Reinstalling can force a cleanup so to speak. They might have even updated the app itself.

hi all,

regarding sonoma, there is something i don't understand : i was on 14.3.1 mac os with pt 24.3. And then pt 24.6 came out with 14.5 compatibility (https://avidtech.my.salesforce-sites...tibility-Chart).

but then this 14.5 was no more available : my m2 update is saying 1 update available : 14.6.1 !

This is behaving as expected. And all has been discussed before on DUC. Stop worrying about point releases not being listed as compatible. Pro Tools official support just does not track point releases, and it's too hard for normal users to install older point releases. Just use the newer point releases.

Newer point releases are extremely unlikely to break any compatibility. On the other hand you are likely much better off taking them, especially if they address security issues.

And if there are any issues you'll have lots of other folks on DUC screaming about them (since many folks take the latest available point release) and if not then it's likely something specific to your system and you need to troubleshoot it.

and there answer...

What version of Pro Tools? 2024.6.0

What HD Driver version? 2024.6

You upgraded from what macOS version? 14.6
Just doing a normal in-situ update? Yes

Anything else changed? No

HDX does not show up where? Anywhere
What *exactly* are you looking at. In Audio MIDI Setup? Not There

In Pro Tools Playback Engine? Not There
(what does show up there)All the usual stuff just no HDX

Is Pro Tools starting up as Ultimate? Double Check it is. Yes

What basic troubleshooting have you done (under "help us help you" up the top of each DUC web page). Start at least with trashing prefs. Trashed Prefs-Still not there

UAD stuff is likely better helped on UAD's forum I have a ticket with them.
